AN ELECTION IS SO PRA
these elections I noticed a detail: I am not mistaken, there has never been many candidates musicians (or, as appropriate, so many musicians candidates), and various genres: popular as Moacyr Franco, chic Juca Chaves, popularzões Tiririca up as avant-garde as Jorge Antunes. This inspired me to assemble a coletaneazinha with recordings of political spots and jingles played by Brazilian celebrities from my collection of vinyl, 78s, and flexidiscs acetates (I played on some radio Matraca , others not. Collect them all!)
Maybe King's political jingle has been in Brazil Gustavo Miguel (1922/1972), he certainly left many, recorded by performers the most diverse. One was "Plebiscite", just to (in this case, messing) of an occasional referenda that try to replace the presidentialism parliamentarism, this is the case in 1961, and will listen to the interpretations of already Nora Ney veteran and a newcomer to the future , Elza Soares. Also Miguel Gustavo, but 1971-2, are "Brazil, I Love You" (sung by Angela Maria), "Army Week" (Tender Trio), "From Homeland Week" (one of the last recordings Cyro Monteiro) and "Olympics of the Army" (with Clara Nunes been compelled to write this jingle by the military government as punishment for having saved the forbidden "Despite You "by Chico Buarque). Not
Gustavo de Miguel, but in the patriotic climate, are the interpretations of the National Anthem by Roberto Carlos, Elis Regina to celebrate the sesquicentennial of independence in 1972. Today we know that Elis played this commercial totally against their will as punishment - it is more of a vengeful militias - for having referred to them as "apes" (fortunately they do not retaliated offense - the gorillas, of course).
Less known but still active and worth much more is known composer and singer Sonya Pleasures (which I am honored to have as a partner in the Netflix Community). In 1970 she charted songs on tracks of the Globo soap operas and those three jingles for the big news was that the Mobral.
We also have unbeatable Luiz Gonzaga, who was recording jingles for whoever asked, whether state or opposition: one was "JB Luiz Gonzaga With You", referring to Jose Bonifacio Coutinho Nogueira de Carvalho Pinto candidate to the Government of Sao Paulo in 1962. And Chico Buarque supported the campaign for Senator Fernando Henrique Cardoso to "Will Win", a parody of his own "Go Pass".
few jingles should have won more than the wholesale Adhemar de Barros campaha his father as president in 1949 and here we have three. Two are composed Herivelto Martins and Benedito Lacerda and have the explicit involvement of the vocal group Three Marys and the trombonist Raul de Barros and more subtle interpretation of Florinda Alves and Quincas Gonçalves - actually Aracy Nelson Gonçalves de Almeida and under pseudonyms. And like Daten may seem a lot of acronyms out there but it is not, ditto Sivan - nothing to do with the Amazon Surveillance System, but the composer Sivan Neto Castle (1904/1984), who oversaw the whole of Brazil with songs hits like "If She Ask" and "Theme From the straw man" and jingles like this, "Adhemar President." Ah, yes: not only Adoniran Barbosa entered this coletaneazinha because he refused to compose a samba for this Adhemar campaign with a good fee and everything.
